WALT: describe 3D shapes

We know that 3D shapes:

• are solids
• have edges
• have vertices
• have faces

Look at our 3D shapes coming to LIFE on QUIVER VISION!

Aiden says, "I am so proud that I can name 3D shapes. My favourite is a sphere."

WALT: Use the contents/index page to answer questions

It can be tricky to focus on just the contents/index page to find information because I like reading all the pages.

WALT: Use spelling patterns (-ing)

Aiden says, "I am proud of the word playing because it is an action/doing word. These are verbs."

WALT: read o'clock/half past

Aiden says, "I am proud because I can read o'clock and half past times."

WALT: Use the space around us

Room 30 have loved going to Youth Town. 

We had FUN, LISTENED and LEARNT some very fun skills like:

• following instructions
• team work
• finding/using space

Some of the games we played included Simon says, Ninja, Hospital and Shark/Ship/Shore.

WALT: answer inferential questions

We have worked hard to use use the text and illustrations to answer questions.

We sometimes find it tricky to answer questions that make us think outside of the box. We then have to remember to use our own experience and the story to think of answers.

Aiden says, "I find it tricky to answer questions about the story because I want to read the whole story."

WALT: Use capital letters and full stops

 To celebrate Mothers' Day we used Tagul to make a note to our Mum's. 
Aiden says, "I am proud because I use capital letters at the start of a senetence and full stops at the end."

WALT: Check our writing makes sense

In Writing this term we have been learning to:

• use capital letters and full stops
• check our writing makes sense
• write in detail (more than one idea/add interesting words-adjectives)
• write in sequence using words like first, next and after that

(We had to share something ABOUT ME, and write 2 sentences about something we like. )

Aiden says, "Dominic and I both like bears!"

WALT: answer literal questions

In Reading this term we have been learning:

• to answer questions using the text and the pictures
• to understand what is a compound word
• to identify and understand punctuation in texts
• to understand the features of fiction/non-fiction texts

IAL: How to read graphs and talk about them

(We have used the Statistics activities on Mathletics to practice what we have been learning.)

For our Maths Strand this term we have been learning all about Statistics.

We have collected different kinds of data and assembled this information onto graphs.

The next time you visit our classroom check-out the different graphs we have made on the walls.

Aiden says "I like going on Mathletics. Leigh has the most because there are 4." 

IALT: Get in and out of the pool safely

We have been learning how to get in and out of the pool using the ladders and the edge of the pool. We know how to use both hands to support us and to turn around before getting off the ladder.
